About this Policy
This policy explains how Russell Sturgess ("we", "us") collects, uses, stores and shares your personal information. It applies to russellsturgess.com.au and to the programs, sessions, events, books and services we offer.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What We Collect
We only collect what we need to provide our services and keep in touch with you. This may include:
-
your name, email address, phone number and postal address
-
details of the sessions, programs, events and purchases you book or make with us
-
feedback, reviews or testimonials you choose to give
-
anything you share with us in forms, emails or messages
-
basic information about how you use our website (see Cookies below)
Payments are handled by our payment providers, and we never see or store your full card number.
Personal and Wellbeing Information
Mentoring and bodywork are personal work, and you may choose to share information about your health, wellbeing or life circumstances. This is called sensitive information. We only collect it with your consent, use it only to provide our services to you, and never use it for marketing.
How We Collect It
Most information comes directly from you, for example when you book a session, fill in a form, buy from our shop or contact us. Some is collected automatically when you visit our website (see Cookies below).
How We Use It
We use your information to provide our programs, sessions and services, manage bookings and orders, respond to your enquiries, ask for feedback, send updates and offers if you’ve agreed to receive them, improve our website and services, and meet our legal obligations.
We don’t sell, rent or trade your personal information.
Marketing Emails
We only send newsletters and offers if you've agreed to receive them, or where the law allows. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. If you're booked into a session or enrolled in a program, we'll still send emails you need about that, such as booking confirmations and program information, even if you've unsubscribed from marketing.
Who We Share It With
We use trusted service providers to run our business, such as website hosting, email, online booking, video conferencing, payment processing and the tools that connect them. They only receive the information they need to do their job.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or where there's a serious risk to someone's health or safety.
Information Stored Overseas
Some of these providers store information outside Australia, mainly in the United States and Europe. We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect it.
Testimonials and Reviews
We only publish testimonials with your consent, using the name format you choose, and you can ask us to remove one at any time. Reviews you post on other sites, such as Google, are managed by that site.
Storage, Security, and How Long We Keep It
Your information is stored securely with our service providers, and only people who help run the business can access it. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect it. We keep it only as long as we need it, or as the law requires, and then delete it.
Cookies and Website Analytics
Our website uses cookies to work properly and to show us how visitors use it. You can block cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work without them.
We're not responsible for how sites we link to, such as YouTube and Facebook, handle your information.
Accessing or Correcting Your Information
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us here. We'll respond within 30 days. If we can't fully meet a request, for example where the law requires us to keep records, we'll explain why.
Making a Complaint
If you're concerned about how we've handled your personal information, please contact us first. We'll look into it and respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Changes and Contact
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page. For any questions about this policy or your personal information, please contact us.
