It is his assertion that the 22 cards of the major arcana are all about the death and resurrection!

The Marseille Tarot is one of the oldest decks of the tarot. Russell's research and philosophy suggests that the cards were in fact 'portable stained glass windows' hiding the most important Christian wisdom from the Catholic Church during the crusades. The wisdom hidden in the cards describes the pilgrimage that each of us must take in order to bridge the gap between who we are as a human being and who we are in our soul being.
